Save and Misbehave: Engagement Party at MOCA
You’re Engaged!
Stop panicking. I’m talking about how engaged you’ll be at MOCAs new “Engagement Party”. The event is more about getting you engaged with art than it is a singles mixer. The first Thursday of every month at MOCA, this free event takes you to a whole new level of interaction. Starting tonight (cancel those plans, kids) with “Color Chorus” is OJO: a collective of local visual artists who experiment with acoustic guitars, musical improvisation, and breaking the boundaries between audience members and performers.
The group will host an interactive music experience with tons of audience participation. When you arrive, you’re assigned a color, which will tell you which group you’re in. The concept kind of reminds us of class projects in grade school. These projects are much more fun and don’t involve dissecting frogs. The performers will cue the different groups to make certain, choreographed sounds and movements which will then come together in a beautiful pattern.
Possibly even more beautiful than that class project Mom still has hanging on the refrigerator.
Color Chorus starts at 7pm tonight and is FREE. Next month, on July 2, is Fresh Car Crash followed by an Interactive Lecture Series on August 6. Please call (213) 621-1745 or visit their website for more information.
