Dive Into Dudamel
Gustavo Dudamel, the curly-haired Venezuelan set to replace Esa-Pekka Salonen as Music Director of the Los Angeles Philharmonic in 2009, gives us a taste of his vivacious conducting style. Dudamel will conduct a concert that features widely acclaimed pianist Rudolf Buchbinder, playing Mozart’s Piano Concert No. 23 with the Philharmonic in his Walt Disney Concert Hall debut. Each performance will open with Hungarian composer György Kurtág’s Stele and close with Strauss’ powerful Apine Symphony.
